I used to give away books via Goodreads, but the last time I went to that site to do so I discovered they were charging for it. I have to admit I had a fit at paying $119 or more to them, plus for books and postage. In previous giveaways, as far as I could tell I had gotten essentially nothing–no reviews or other evidence the winner did anything other than sell it on eBay. (Of course that’s a bit of a joke, considering authors have a hard enough time selling books in the first place, unless they’re famous.)
I finally decided to conduct my own giveaways through my newsletter. I asked a trivia question and the first three to respond with the correct answer would win a book (an ebook, if they were outside the USA). It went great and I had some very happy fans. I can’t believe I didn’t do it this way in the first place!

I just posted to Amazon and will also post to Goodreads if the new edition is already there. I’ll post it here in my blog, too. The one here will be unabridged, I shortened the one for Amazon. I can really get long-winded on books I love! LOL!

Thank you for the wonderful review, Marcha. I am thrilled with your description of my writing. The new version is easier to follow. One of the reasons for the revision. You have reminded me to put the new version on Goodreads. I’ll do that tomorrow. Ingram is having problems with my cover upload for it. Hoping to resolve that, too.This has been an interesting process.

Ingram can be all sort of fun. It’s such a pain to make changes to the interior and then they charge you, but I sure like the quality better than Create Space. The cover’s color comes out better, too. Probably has something to do with being CMYK instead of RGB.
