I have been working on a novel about foreign correspondents in Asia (my other life). It is about 3/4ths finished. I am also writing a Substack column, which is taking a lot of my time. The Substack column keeps me engaged as a journalist, which is what I did for most of my life — except for about 13 years as a professor and dean at the University of Illinois.
You appear to be active. Good luck with getting the trilogy onto the big screen. I have had a few nibbles about my trilogy, but Hollywood is so capricious and unctuous that I don’t have much trust in it. I have written screenplays and screenplay treatments, and actually sold a couple of treatments many years ago. But it is a slimy and specious world, and at this point in my life, I don’t have the patience or trust that it takes to deal with producers, etc.
It is great hearing from you, Marcha. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I’m shooting for a tv series. I’m working on the pilot script and the other materials you need. I’ve talked to a couple producers and got fairly encouraging feedback. Sure is different than writing a novel!
Thanks for the heads up, Marcha. I need to check out the trilogy. It looks really good.
