Marcha, I hope you stay safe! The weather is surely bizarre – our area is supposed to be having ‘wet season’, but we have clear blue skies…. Dare I speculate that our rain went to your area?!?
I think I’d prefer your flooding to the red tide that’s closing many Atlantic beaches. This morning on the news, I heard that Indian River County’s beaches were closed because the water tests showed a very high toxicity. …. The photos showed a lot of dead fish, so I’m grateful that we don’t have ‘smellavision’. I wish our country/world could find a way to clean up water, air and soil! It would be nice if weather could be regulated so all areas only got the needed amount, too.

This deluge has been courtesy of the Pacific, believe it or not. However, later this week, about the time we get rid of that, moisture from the Gulf is headed our way. At least for now it’s not pouring. Most of it has moved northwest.

It’s within about 20 – 25 miles. We’ve had LOTS of rain which has resulted in major flooding in the area, particularly along the Llano River, which is usually not much more than a trickle. Now it’s a raging river that took out a bridge. I live about 100 yards from Lake Buchanan, which is taking in some of that water, but it hasn’t been full in years, so that’s a good thing. The water will go over the dam before it reaches my house, so I’m not in flooding danger. However, the saturated ground has caused my septic tank to go on strike. Hopefully that won’t last long. LOL. But more rain is coming, so no guarantees. Never a dull moment around here.
