Years ago, I heard this had happened many times over the eons – and it was overdue… IMHO, now that so much of our technology relies so heavily on electrical and GPS, having this happen would surely return us to the Dark Ages, at best.. Wipe us out, at worst, since so few humans have a clue how to raise crops, much less store them.

It certainly would be. It seems that people lived underground, in many areas of the world, do you think they lived there for radiation protection or for some other reason?
