On the original post, kds12 pointed out that there was “a century+ of written data, and more with archeological findings, they looked at 35 yrs of data to ‘prove’ their foregone conclusion” which is a valid point, however, that is a moment to the Earth, which has cycles that span thousands of years. I believe that what we’re seeing is part of aa long-term pattern. After all, at one time, Alaska used to be tropical.

I believe so, too, that it’s long-term climate change which has gone on for thousands, even millions of years. Some droughts do end, others don’t. We’re in big trouble if it doesn’t since so much of our food comes from California. They’ve been getting some rain lately but probably not enough plus they’re so prone to landslides when they do.

We humans have made the problem worse by digging deeper wells and pumping the aquifer, instead of adapting our crops to a changing climate.

True. And in some areas the aquifers are now dry so they’re in big trouble.
